Guided Walk and coffee Runnymede
Runnymede Guided Walk
Runnymede
6th July 2024

We are delighted that Debbie will be joining us again to lead our guided walk around Runnymede. She has enthralled us with her ghostly stories in Windsor and amazing history and facts about St George’s Chapel and so we look forward to learning more about this area with her. She has an amazing talent for dates and interesting facts and makes our guided walks so interesting and fun.

Runnymede is not only a beautiful meadow, but has so much history. It’s where King John made his mark on the Great Charter, better known today as the Magna Carta – but did you know that King John could not write?

There is so much to see in this wonderful meadow, including the Magna Carta memorial, the memorial to JFK and the Jurors Chairs. Debbie has so much to tell us about this area and she thinks that the Magna Carta was perhaps our greatest export to the world.

We will continue with a walk from Runnymede meadow along the river to the Runnymede Hotel where we will end our walk with well earned coffee and pastries.

We suggest you park at Runnymede on Thames Hotel at 9am, where we end up for coffee and we can all walk down to the start near the pleasure grounds.
