St George’s Chapel – Private Tour

We are delighted we have been able to arrange another Ginger Fig Club Private Guided Tour of this beautiful Chapel.

Founded in the year 1475 in the late Gothic Perpendicular style, it is a beautiful building full of history and artwork.

It is the home of the worlds’ oldest order of chivalry, The Order of the Garter, and the final resting place of 10 Kings of England, including King Henry VIII and King Charles I, the latter buried with his head sewn back on. Most recently, it is also the final resting place of our beloved late Queen Elizabeth II, who is reunited with her family in a fine tomb in the North Quire Aisle.

We will meet at 12.45 for coffee and cake at the Castle Hotel before walking over to the chapel where our private guided tour will start at 2pm. Our private tour will take us around the Chapel including some areas not usually open to the public. This will also include visiting the final resting place of our Monarchs including the Queen.

Ticket price includes: Tea/coffe & cake at The Castle Hotel and a private guided tour of St George’s Chapel. (A £5 Chapel donation has been included in the ticket price)
